The Best Content Strategies?
Not the kind that needs a boardroom full of people to write, script, shoot, edit, and approve. Nah. The best stuff is usually shot on a phone, edited on a phone, and tells a story no script could ever capture.

Why do we love these raw, authentic videos so much?
That magic mix, shooting in the moment, editing quickly, and publishing often, creates content that actually connects.
And the folks below? They’ve been doing it with this exact formula. We’re big fans.

EXAMPLES!
Sip and Anchor, a Kelowna Wine Tour company, creates short videos to show folks what their tours are all about. They are fun, fast-paced, and show the assortment of tours you can do with Sip and Anchor. Now, you may not be a wine tour company with groups of people willing to have their photo taken, but you can take inspiration from what they’re doing on Instagram.
The secret? Capture lots of video and edit it into something that looks AWESOME! Yes, they do have one of the nicest locations to film in the world, but the way they share about it makes you want to visit there today! AND by next week they’re produce another Reel that’ll be even better.

Peregrine Landscape Construction, your local landscaping experts, shares project overviews, updates, before and afters, and bonus, they have some amazing drone footage! Yes, I realize that drone footage is not the same as phone footage, but if you run a business that does a lot of work outdoors, investing in a drone and someone who can fly it is a smart investment.
Peregrine does a great job of involving you in the design and build process. You can tell they care about their work; they wouldn’t post about it if they didn’t care.
Their secret? They LOVE what they do, and you can feel it in the videos and photos they share. They are complete landscaping nerds, and I love them for that!

Another great example of a smart content strategy is Rob Reinhardt from Prairie Smoke and Spice. An entertaining follow, Rob shares his BBQ wisdom, behind the scenes, tips, tricks, and even his failures.
I love how real he is. You can tell it’s not shot on a high-end camera, and I think that’s a good thing. The footage comes off as real, authentic and trustworthy. What’s even more impressive is the amount of engagement he gets. Notice the number of comments he receives per post.
His secret? He’s real and doesn’t take himself too seriously. He posts negative content, he posts controversial opinions (see, do you need to cut off silver skin on beef ribs before a long cook?!). I trust Rob because he shows up day after day, talking about his craft.
Garrett has been in my feed for several years now. And yes, I did get golf lessons from him, but it was a long time after I started following his content! (If you’re looking for golf lessons click here)
Garrett’s a great guy, and his content shows it. He’s a natural on camera, he’s pretty smart at golf, and runs a great business at the First Tee. But today isn’t about the First Tee, it’s about GMAC the teaching professional! Full disclosure, I talked about Garrett way before I hired him to teach me to golf better.
I appreciate how honest he is. His content isn’t overproduced; it’s just him, which makes it trustworthy. Look at how much engagement he gets per Reel he shares. 18 comments? C’MON!?! That’s amazing.
The secret? He’s providing tons of value. ANYONE in the golf world can always learn to swing better, putt better, and perfect that monster drive you have. Garrett does it in an approachable way.

Start measuring engagement per post. You can go into Meta Business Suite, download last month’s data from your account into an Excel spreadsheet. Take that spreadsheet, upload it to Chat, and ask it to calculate “Engagements per post”, and you’ll get a number based on the total number of engagements divided by the number of posts. That number you can compare month by month, or year by year. You can also set goals from here to actually increase engagement on your accounts.
I love this metric because it’s difficult to game. Followers can be bought, posting more is a copout, but actually tracking engagement per post over time will teach you a lot about your audience.

The Stratlab team has been fantastic. In the last 2 years Stratlab has helped us to overhaul our website. I am not a tech person, but in working with Carter, Dustin, or Brandon, bit-by-bit we've been able to revolutionize our Events Guide from what it previously was. With pretty much every idea I've had, some I didn't even know if they were technically possible, these wizards have found a way to make them happen. They are also usually super quick to make requested changes or fix any weirdness that may arise. We've had one of the best-looking and most user-friendy tourism Events Guides in the country that even our residents are getting excited about using! You can tell these guys are passionate about their work and care about getting their customers exactly what they need & want. I'm sad that I'll no longer be working with this crew due to transitioning to another department at work, but I highly recommend the Strat Lab team for any web design project 👍👍Posted on Google![]()

I recently had the privilege of working with Brandon at StratLab, and the quality of his work is truly next‑level. After one quick call to share my vision for a bat demo video, he understood exactly what I needed, and delivered something far beyond what I imagined. His attention to detail, creative precision, and top‑tier expertise show what real professionalism looks like. Every frame, every transition, every moment was crafted with intention. He respected timelines, communicated clearly, and made the entire process effortless. I can only hope to work with Brandon again.Posted on Google![]()
