Do you know why the Blue Jays Run Out Onto The Field At The Start of an Inning?
I had this incredible baseball coach who instilled in us the importance of running, not just jogging or walking, but full-on sprinting onto the field. Why? Well, it’s not just a physical thing; it’s a psychological game-changer. Running out onto that field sends a powerful message to the other team that we mean business. But more than that, it’s about each and every player harnessing their inner fire. When you sprint, your body and mind ignite, and you’re shouting to your subconscious, “BRING IT ON! IT’S SHOWTIME”
Action begets attitude.
It’s a brilliant way to prep your mind for the game through your body’s physiology. Sometimes, the simplest way to get your head in the game is by getting your body in the game first. Taking action sets the tone for your attitude.
Our coach let us in on a little secret: the Blue Jays were doing it too. If the pros were incorporating it into their routine, then it was a no-brainer for us to follow suit. After all, success leaves clues, and we were determined to leave our mark on that field, one blazing run at a time.
What do you get excited for at work?
Just the other day, I found myself running into work. I was excited for a meeting so I had a mild-jog going on to get into work. I was pumped! IT WAS GO TIME!
I chuckled to myself and thought my old baseball coach would have been proud.
