Sâkêwêwak Artists’ Collective Inc
Sâkêwêwak First Nations Artists’ Collective Inc. is a vital cornerstone of the Regina Indigenous arts community, with a rich history dating back to its formation in 1991 as Ironbow. Over the years, it has evolved into an organization dedicated to nurturing the artistic endeavors of Indigenous artists in Regina and its surrounding areas. Their mandate is clear: to create a nurturing space for Indigenous artists to develop their self-determined artistic practices through critical engagement with their peers and audiences. This commitment is embodied in their diverse programming, including their renowned Sâkêwêwak Annual Storytellers Festival, which celebrates Indigenous creativity through a variety of artistic forms. With over two decades of supporting artists, Sâkêwêwak remains a vital source of community, encouragement, and opportunity for Indigenous artists, empowering them to create, flourish, and connect with wider audiences.
