The RM of Bengough No. 40, named after the charming Town of Bengough, was officially incorporated in 1913, emerging from what was formerly known as Local Improvement District No. 40. This 11 ½ Township Rural Municipality boasts an extensive network of 320 miles of roads, catering to various needs with 31 miles of Primary Grid, 107 miles of Grid, 60 miles of Farm Access, and 122 miles of Backroads, which are seasonal. With a Total Taxable Assessment amounting to $114,572,337, this diverse municipality features a significant presence of Agriculture at $104,533,256, Residential at $4,056,775, and Commercial at $5,982,317. Primarily characterized by its rich agricultural and pasture lands, the RM of Bengough No. 40 has also witnessed oil exploration and potential helium exploration, indicative of its evolving resource landscape.
