Listen, Hear Our Voices
Welcome to LISTEN, HEAR OUR VOICES, a remarkable digital library dedicated to preserving the rich history of Cowessess First Nation. This invaluable collection features a diverse range of photographs, including historical snapshots, community events, and significant documents. Among the poignant images are those of individuals who attended the Marieval Residential School, offering a poignant glimpse into the past. These photographs made their debut on September 30, 2021, during National Truth and Reconciliation Day, eliciting profound emotions from community members. The primary mission of Listen, Hear Our Voices is to safeguard this history for future generations. Achieving this goal involves scanning physical photos into JPG format, compiling crucial metadata detailing approximate dates, names, and photo/event summaries, and establishing a secure digital library accessible on the Cowessess First Nation website, all maintained with great care by the Cowessess First Nation.
