A guest speaker in my class sent me this video. He has a great online presence but he understands there’s a very negative side to the online world.
We compare ourselves to young prodigies, the one in a million that made it as a rapper, actor, influencer, etc. But that leads to making yourself feel bad for being a late bloomer. Or wondering whether you’re going to “bloom” at all.
I love how he looks up to Brene Brown. A “late bloomer” by definition. After her Ted Talk went viral she experienced a lot of fame, but she was well into her 40’s by then. Living a pretty regular life, Brene leads a meaningful life that more people should look up to.
Everyone isn’t going to be famous. But we all can be famous to a few certain people in our lives. Stop putting pressure on yourself to “be successful” and “find your passion”. That doesn’t exist.
Instead look to help people. To better yourself. To work on a long term journey you will be proud of. Attempt the mission that even if you fail it’ll be one hell of a ride either way. At least I assume that’s what Brene did.
