When we we started building websites some eight odd years ago, we’ve always tried to lower the cost every year. We’ve done that very successfully, now offering the lowest cost on a website we have ever offered to build and manage a website for a full year ($2,495 plus tax). But you don’t want that kind of a website. Most people we deal with don’t want a basic website.
That’s why we will start offering fully customized, designed, search engine optimized, and managed websites.
Let me explain.
1. Website Design Customization
Meeting with our graphic designer and lead programmer, we help you develop a design based on your brand. We hold 1 to 3 sessions to develop your brand guidelines, colour palate, and user experience choice architecture (the website wireframe). We use your colours throughout your website to subtly remind visitors of your brand.
Our graphic designer can take your design vision and bring it to life. Our programmer can develop the logic behind the vision to make your website functions come to life.
Lastly we never want to “over design” a website. If you can’t edit it then it’s not going to work down the road. We design for usability and psychology, making things over complicated for no reason other than design isn’t something we like to do.

2. Search Engine Optimization
We meet with you to develop an understanding of what you should be coming up for in Google search. We use Google Keyword tool to understand what people search in your industry. We have a software program (Moz) that tracks 100-200 keyword phrases that your website should be coming up for. We develop a strategy to target your top 3-5 keyword phrases, usually by dedicating specific pages to each keyword phrase you want to come up for in Google. We track progress each month.
Your website can rank really well if optimized properly in advance. We build it into each page to give Google exactly what she wants when crawling your website.

3. Managing Your Website
Together we develop a plan to keep your website updated. Monthly blog posts, new photos posted, embedding video. Anything that makes your website better or more visually appealing. You can send us what you want updated weekly or monthly or we help do it for you.
Websites used to be able to function on a “set-it-and-forget-it” strategy. You could have a beautifully designed website and it would stand the test of time. Today you need fresh content if you want to rank in Google. A simple schedule to insure we’re posting regularly with your input/approval. In time you can take this on and manage your website yourself.
4. Monthly Reporting
Depending on what’s important to your business we create a monthly report to keep you up to date on how your website is performing. Using Google Analytics and our Moz software we can send you reports on where your traffic is coming from, what pages people are visiting, and other interesting demographic information (location, browser, desktop/mobile, age, household spend).
We benchmark against your top three competitors to show progress over time. We track all the keyword phrases your website should be coming up for in Google search, as well as all the websites linking to yours, on-page optimization reports. We can run special reports for you as well, keyword analytics, keyword research, website crawl report, on-page optimization reports.
You don’t know what to fix until you begin to measure.
5. The StratLab Promise (well, 3 of them)
The Hippocratic Marketing oath. We’ll never lie to you just to sell you more or to increase the budget. We’ll never recommend something we wouldn’t do. When we tell you “we’d do it this way” we aren’t lying.
We’ll never go over budget. Whatever budget we’ve agreed to we promise to never exceed that. We pride ourselves on being very transparent with billing.
No long-term contract. If we aren’t doing our job and you’re unsatisfied we won’t bill you. Any client of ours that is paying us, is because they appreciate the service we provide. You pay when you’re happy with what you got.
This isn’t meant to be a sales post. My apologies if it comes off that way. I promise I won’t call you or text you about “if you’re ready to buy!”. No I hate sales people probably more than you do. I wrote this because any time we bring up this style of website service people automatically think it’ll cost $20,000 and up. We can do all of it for under $10,000 for a whole year.
You don’t have to pay a lot to get amazing service and an unbelievable product. If you don’t use your website much you may just need a simple Wix or Squarespace site. If you want a little more customization and want to come up in Google search eventually, a basic WordPress website should be fine. Spend less than $3K on your website so you can put the rest into content for your new website.
