At a Creators Club event a couple weeks back had me thinking about a quote from Adam Smith, from Malty National. We were talking about brands and posting on social media. He kind of stopped the conversation in a good way with a little nugget of truth.
“When you’re a business on social media, everything you post is an ad.” You may disagree and think what you are posting isn’t an ad but your audience thinks differently.
What an amazing observation.
I never thought of it that way. But really when it comes down to it, why wouldn’t we think it’s an ad? Because we trust companies to always do the right thing?
Mind what you post. Don’t be too one dimensional. Care about something.
If you’re posting “ads” why not put it to good use and support an organization or cause?
Thanks for the advice Mr. Smith, much appreciated.
