Schmitty’s Smoked Meats & Catering, based in Regina, Saskatchewan, is more than just a catering company; it’s a heartfelt journey that began with a father’s love for his daughter. Founded by Tyler Schmidt, this culinary venture started as a hobby born out of a desire to spend more time at home with his family, especially his daughter Zoey, who has Down Syndrome and autism. Tyler’s passion for smoking meat quickly turned into an obsession, leading to mouthwatering creations and requests from friends and family for his delectable dishes. As demand grew, Tyler took a leap of faith, quitting his 18-year plumbing job in 2019 to pursue Schmitty’s Smoked Meats full-time. The company’s rapid growth led to the acquisition of a food truck in 2020 and the establishment of a commercial kitchen and storefront in 2022. Despite the uncertainty, Tyler and his wife Pam remain dedicated to providing delicious, affordable food and look forward to the exciting future ahead in the Regina catering community.
