We help non-profits grow their community.
By launching websites that tell stories and build trust, we’ve helped dozens of non-profits across Canada create a larger impact on their community.
Our approach to building websites is simple, yet effective. We’re here for you from the beginning to website launch, and beyond! Most companies will only help you with a website then walk away. Launching a website is easy. The hard part is using it to grow your organization.
Anyone can have a website these days thanks to low-cost web building platforms like WordPress, Wix, and Squarespace. So if everyone can have a website now what’s the big deal? Just because you have a website doesn’t mean you will get traffic. Each year more and more websites along with social media platforms take more and more attention away from your website. Year on year traffic on average went down last year. The only way to explain it is there are too many options out there. Focus on being findable. Set a measureable, use Google Analytics, and work towards your goal. In time you’ll notice trends, see traffic spikes, and learn what doesn’t drive traffic to your website. Once you see traffic is organically improving you can move on to “trustable“.
Have you ever found yourself stumbling into some sketchy website, peppered with lazy formatting, blurry pictures, and stock photos? Sites like those aren’t likely to get much business. But it takes more than just avoiding these obvious pitfalls to make your website “trustable“. It needs to be easy to understand and navigate, engaging for users, and most importantly: human.
If your website feels like some sort of sterile operating room, people aren’t going to feel comfortable spending time on your site and engaging with the content you put so much work into. For example, a subtle, complimentary colour palette pairs well with a clean, spacious design to keep users from getting intimidated. A slight sense of humor may even put a smile on their face, and evidence suggests that if you manage to make someone smile, they’re much more likely to give you their business.
We touched a bit on this in the last section; the key to being remarkable is eliciting an emotion from users. Make them smile or laugh.
Make content or provide a service different from your competition, make something truly worth of being remarked upon. It’s not always easy, but with a bit of creativity, you’ll be surprised what you can come up with. Experiment and have fun!
